Gemma Collins has revealed she’s ‘given up men for animals’ and is now ‘99%’ a vegetarian.
The TOWIE star doesn’t crave a man, or meat, anymore and admitted she gets more comfort out of a hot chocolate and a good film.
Gemma, who has recently found worldwide fame through her memes, no longer feels “unfulfilled” but still wants to have a baby one day.
The GC has now shunned her glamorous life to take care of animals and confessed she’s “getting too old” for the party life.
Saira Khan left the Loose Women audience in stitches after she asked: “I’ve heard you’ve given up on men and are into animals now.”
It was quickly clarified she didn’t mean it in “that way” – but Gemma does have a soft spot for nature.
The TOWIE star said: “I felt so unfulfilled and like I have all this love to give but no one to give it to. When you get older the materialistic things in life mean nothing – the cars the watches. Them things come into your life and you’re still not happy – it’s all rubbish. There’s got to be more to life than materialism.”
She added: “So we went to a farm in Marbella and since I’ve been back I’ve been on this whole quest. I’ve been helping a lot of animal charities, one in Essex, which I love to do.
I’ve been watching all the videos about animal cruelty. I know its boring to watch but if you shut your eyes to it you don’t know its going on.
“I’ve like 99% become a vegetarian, there’s just that 1% I’m struggling with. I got drunk the other night and woke up with a pie and mash.”
Gemma also spoke about revealing she had unprotected sex with James ‘Arg’ Argent in a bid to get pregnant.
Revealing they “sat down over a paella” to clear the air, Gemma said: “I think the thing with me trying to get pregnant with Arg, it weren’t the right thing to do but I was going through a tough time and really wanted to have a baby.
“But in today’s society you both need to wear a condom, the woman shouldn’t be getting the blame. You can get woman’s ones.”
Gemma stars in the brand new series of TOWIE, which starts on Sunday, but admits she can’t join the rest of the cast at the after parties and is the “old girl hanging on for dear life”.
She also had her say on her newfound internet fame, after her reactions launched a frenzy of memes or “memays” as Gemma would say.
The GC added: “I rang my friend up and said have you seen all these ‘memays’. She said no Gemma it’s .memes’.
“I find it so funny, it’s gone all around the world. I’ve got people retweeting from Florida – it’s mental. It’s scary how these things can take off.”
